Dorothy (Barton) Voss Schuett, daughter of Alfred and Mary Agnes "Aggie" (Croghan) Barton, was born November 20, 1921, near Royal, Nebraska. Dorothy died Thursday, March 27, 2014, at the Bloomfield Good Samaritan Center.

Dorothy moved with her family northwest of Bloomfield, Nebraska, when she was in grade school. Dorothy attended Bloomfield High School, and later graduated from high school in Gregory, South Dakota, with the Class of 1939.

On November 23, 1940, Dorothy was married to Carl Voss. To this union, six children were born: Robert, Rebecca, Dotty, Deb, Rick, and Bill. Dorothy and Carl raised their family on the farm northwest of Bloomfield, until moving their family into town in 1964. Carl worked for the Farmers Co-op Elevator in Bloomfield, and Dorothy worked at the Corner Drug Store and Alderman's Variety Store. She was also the City Librarian form many years, and enjoyed it very much. Dorothy loved to bake, especially her famous rolls and cookies. Dorothy always had the grandchildren help her bake when they were there, and they all have so many fond memories of times with Grandma. Carl passed away after a lengthy illness in 1989.

In 1992, Dorothy was married to Marvin Schuett in Bloomfield, and they had many happy years together. They loved traveling and they worked together making all of their children and grandchildren gifts of their woodworking and painting skills.

Dorothy's hobbies included baking, knitting, quilting, oil painting, many arts and crafts, gardening, walking, and traveling. All of her children and grandchildren received afghans, quilts, and paintings that Dorothy had done.
