died in a steamboat explosion on Lake Bistineau. At the time of his death, it was Claiborne Parish.

Son of Enoch Alden and Mary Webb. Enoch and Mary died of Yellow Fever in Claiborne Parish in June of 1833. Joshua was raised by his aunt and uncle, Isaac Alden and Sarah "Sallie" Henderson Alden. He was sold some land by Isaac on 4/7/1843 near where US 371 crosses Brushy Creek today.

He married circa 1843 to Laurella Stevenson. They had at least 2 boys, Enoch and Richard, as they are listed with their mother and stepfather in the 1850 census. They also sold their interest in their father's land to their 2nd stepfather, Jeremiah Culverhouse, in November of 1868.

Believed to be buried in a small family cemetery on the original land he received from his Uncle Isaac. I do not know if any markers remain.

Still researching.
