Burton H. Severeid was born to Hans and Sophie Severeid, August 25, 1925 in Genoa, CO; passed away December 2, 2004 in Tacoma, WA at the age of 79. Burton was preceded in death by his sister Carolyn Mills and his brother Selmer Severeid. He was the loving husband of Ardys Severeid of Tacoma for over 56 years; father of David (Mary) Severeid of Puyallup, WA and Bruce (Elizabeth) Severeid of Puyallup; grandfather of Krista, Sonja (Jeff), Michael (Katie), Luke and Arla; brother of Harold Severeid of Sequim, WA, Martha Aho of Renton, WA, June Thomas of Seattle, WA, Bernice (Reuben) Weltha of Granbury, TX and Donald (LaVonne) Severeid of Puyallup; brother-in-law of Judith Severeid and James Mills; uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was a veteran of WWII and a graduate of Pacific Lutheran College. His tenure in providing financial services to this community spans over fifty years. He also served as an administrator for Clover Park Vocational Technical Institute from 1965-70. He built and managed a sales force of over 300 registered investment representatives throughout Western Washington. He was a co-founder and president of Severeid and Associates Inc., a local independent insurance agency. He loved all outdoor activities and was co-founder of the Tacoma Webfooters, the first jeep club in western Washington. A memorial service will be Saturday, December 11, 2004 at 11:00 AM at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 10510 136th Street E., Puyallup, WA 98374. Memorials may go to Pilgrim Lutheran Church or American Lung Association.
