Jo Belle Allen Ruff , the daughter of Joe Thomas Allen and Effie Ophelia Mattox Allen , was born April 13 , 1917 in Lee County , Mississippi . Her siblings were Joe Anderson Allen , Clark Allen who married Betty Marie Stovall , Timonia Allen Partlow who married Sam H. Partlow , and Gilbert W. Allen who married Frankie Mae Westmoreland . Jo Belle Allen married Graves H. Ruff July 25 , 1937 . Jo Belle and Graves Ruff had one daughter Burma . For over 75 years Jo Bell belonged to the Richmond Baptist Church where she was active teaching Sunday school for twenty years , serving as president of the WMA for twenty years as well as a being a Bible School leader for years . Jo Belle Allen Ruff died June 16 , 2005 in Tupelo preceded in death by Graves Ruff her husband of 65 years , her parents , her sister Timonia Partlow , and her brothers Gibert Allen , Clark Allen , and Joe Anderson Allen . Her daughter Burma Schumpert , two grandchildren , and seven great grandchildren survived her .
