Early Life: Rowley was born January 10, 1937, in Salina, Utah, to John Marvin Curtis and Cecil Jane Rowley Curtis. He graduated from Springville High School in 1955, where, as a senior, he operated his own dairy and herd. He was elected as the chapter President of the FFA, named as the Utah Star Farmer, elected as the Utah State President of the FFA and as a National Vice President of the FFA. It was then, he met his sweetheart.
Life's Work/Service/Interests: Rowley and his sweetheart, Betty Kay Ainge, were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Rowley has owned and operated several businesses over the years. After he lost his dairy to a fire, he started a poultry ranch under his own label of Mountain View Eggs, producing and selling eggs from over 30,000 laying hens and from other producers in the state, combining all their production and wholesaling to stores and markets throughout Utah and northern Arizona with his small fleet of trucks. He later sold insurance for New York Life, was water master for Springville Irrigation Company and Springville City. He drove school bus for the Nebo School district for 13 years. He was founder and operator of Rowley Curtis and Sons Concrete Contracting, which he ran for over 25 years. After retiring, he and Betty served missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to Richmond, Virginia; as stake missionaries locally and a mission at Employment Resources. He served in various church callings from Scouting, Young Men programs, Stake Missionary as a Seventy, Ward Clerk and Counselor in a bishopric. Rowley Marvin Curtis, of Springville, Utah, passed away on March 23, 2014, of causes incident to age. He was 77.
Survived By: His wife, Betty; seven children: Corin (Robert) Hall, Payson; Nan (Paul) Black, Goshen; Chad (Janene) Curtis, Springville; Brent Curtis, Springville; Taunya (Randy) Bellew, Springville; Jesse (Dianne) Curtis, Mapleton; Jennifer (Paul) McElligott, of Saratoga Springs; his sister, Joylene Kitchen, Fresno, CA; also 25 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Preceded In Death By: His parents; and three grandsons, Jeremy and Jay Hall; and Brandon Curtis.
