"John Riley Coady
Madill - Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon for John Riley Coady, who died at his home in Madill Sunday, following a lengthy illness. Mr. Coady was born in Bath Springs, Texas, March 28, 1871, and had moved to Marshall County in 1904.

He was engaged in farming until his retirement. He was a member of the Church of Christ, having joined that church in early manhood. He was very active in the work of the church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. J.R. Coady, of the home address; five children, Mrs. Arch Hatfield, Madill; Mrs. Madge Kilgo, Midland, Texas; Mrs. W.T. Eubanks, Monahans, Texas; Ivy Coady, Ardmore, and John R. Coady, Lovington, N.M.; also surviving are 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Ida Johnson, Phoenix, Rriz., and Mrs. Mallie Stubblefield, Callisburg, Texas.

Services were held at the Madill Church of Christ, with Brother John Pigg of Gunter, Texas, and Brother Wilbur White, minister of the Madill church, officiating,. Mrrs. Lucille Murray was in charge of the singing. Grandsons of Mr. Coady were casket escorts.

Burial was in McMillan Cemetery, in western Marshall County, with Watts Funeral Home of Madill in charge of arrangements."
