Civil War Union Soldier. He was 22 years old when he was mustered in as a Private in Company B, 15th Pennsylvania Volunteer Cavalry on August 22, 1862. Transferred to Company A, he served until he died of gangrene at the United States Army Asylum Hospital in Knoxville, Tennessee on November 13, 1864.
