Charles Donald (Don) Cramblet, 81, of Fort Worth, TX, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 19, 2014.

Don was born May 7, 1932, in Alliance, Nebraska to Charles Augustus Cramblet and Bertha Mae Ash. He was the oldest of five children. The family lived in Nebraska, South Dakota, Oregon and Wyoming. He married Juanita C. White on January 19, 1952, in Rapid city, SD; of this union was one daughter, Donna. They were later divorced. He married Patricia I. Harthun on March 4, 1954 in Pringle, SD; of this union were three children, Diana, Jerry and Sheryl. Pat passed away on November 17, 1993. He remarried Juanita on May 27, 1995, in Kansas City, KS and they later divorced.

He was a patented inventor of an easy release tailgate hinge during the height of campers in truck beds and manufactured them in Sweet Home, OR. He moved back to Iowa in the early 1970s where he worked as a welder for Nissen Trampoline in Cedar Rapids until retiring in 1994. He moved to Hulett, WY in 1995 and Alliance in the summer of 2001. In February of this year he moved to Fort Worth, TX.

Survivors include: son Jerry and Patty Cramblet of Cedar Rapids, IA, daughter Sheryl and Steve Strout of Ft. Worth, TX, daughter Donna and George Simpson of Bonner Springs, KS; grandchildren: Casey Cramblet, Jessica Cramblet, George Simpson and James Simpson; great grandson Cooper Simpson; sister Mary Ann Smith and ex-wife Juanita Wheeler.
Don was preceded in death by: infant daughter Diana, wife Pat, brothers Jack and Billy Ray Cramblet, sister Dorothy Kerby and friend Ollie Jensen.

A memorial service will be held at a later time. He will be buried with his wife Pat at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery at a later time. Condolences may be sent to Sheryl Strout, 5973 Feather Wind Way, Ft. Worth, Texas 76135.
