Roland Hampton Adams, son of the late P.P. and Elizabeth West Adams, was born in Harrison County, April 21, 1885, and departed this life April 4, 1944. Had he lived 17 more days he would have been 59 years of age.

He was united in marriage on Mar. 2, 1904, to Wealthy Mae Augurbright and to this union seven children were born. A son preceded him to the great beyond several years ago. Fourteen years ago he was married to Miss Kate Hukill of Covington.

He leaves to mourn his passing his widow, six children, and a host of friends who will be saddened to hear of his passing.

He united with the Elizabeth Christian Church in early manhood and remained a member of this church until death. Mr. Adams was an industrious man, doing far more than he was able, a good neighbor always ready to help those in need. He loved his Bible and spent the last night of his life in prayer, saying the lines of hope and promise, and repeatedly saying he was not afraid to meet his God.

The funeral was held Thursday afternoon from the Elizabeth Christian Church and burial was in the Morgan Cemetery near Stringtown.
