Joan Kathryn Edington-Boyd, 69, of Shawnee, KS, passed away peacefully, Saturday, March 15, 2014 at her home. Joan was born July 17, 1944 in Chanute, KS to Richard and Kathryn Edington. She was office manager for Edington Distributors, Inc. in Topeka, KS. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Shawnee, KS. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Daniel Edington. Survivors include her husband, David L. Boyd, of the home; a daughter, Kristin Jo Caywood, of Shawnee, KS; a son, Michael Todd Caywood, of Tonganoxie, KS; three brothers, Richard Edington, Jr., of Topeka, KS, David Edington, Ozawkie, KS, and Dean Edington, of Peculiar, MO, and eight grandchildren.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be 12:30 p.m., Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 11311 Johnson Dr., Shawnee, KS, with burial at the Leavenworth National Cemetery. Visitation will be 5–8 pm, Thursday at the Amos Family Funeral Home, 10901 Johnson Dr., Shawnee, KS.

The family suggests contributions to the St. Joseph Catholic Church Music Ministry.
