Vera Luetta (Burton) McCloure of Hugo, Oklahoma passed away on March 20, 2014 at the age of 90. She was born in Sawyer, Oklahoma on April 11, 1923 to Elijah and Della (Babcock) Burton. Mrs. McCloure was raised in Messer and went to school at Rock Hill and lived in the Hugo area for most of her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Oleta Jones and her sons, Joey McClure and Gene McCloure.

Vera, mother of seven children, was a homemaker and loved her family. She loved having coffee every Monday morning with her sisters. Vera enjoyed embroidering, reading and was of the Pentecostal faith. She worked at the Golden Age nursing home in her younger years and resided there later in life.

SURVIVORS INCLUDE: Sons, Roy McCloure of Tyler, TX; Wayne McCloure and wife, Charlene of Hawkins, TX; and Bill McClure and wife, Clariece of Soper, OK; Jimmy McClure and wife, Angie of North Kannapolis, NC; her daughter, Sharon Oakes Young and husband, Ed of Hugo, OK; daughter-in-law, Donna McClure of Mesquite, TX; as well as her sisters, Alice Wheeler of Rattan, OK; and Lavella Robison and husband, George of Hugo, OK. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Scott McCloure, Doug McCloure, Alice Bell, Jennifer Perrin, Marcus McCloure, Gina Van Worth, Terry Oakes, Lanny Oakes, Brent Oakes, Blake McClure, Krista Kirby, Cameron Thomas, Valerie McClure and Victoria Stixrud; and numerous great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

VISITATION: Family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 P.M., Sunday, March 23, 2014 at the Miller & Miller Funeral Home ~ Hugo, OK
