Henry enlisted 17 July 1861 at Benton, AR into Company C of the 11th Arkansas Infantry. He was captured 08 April 1862 at Island #10 and sent to MP at Camp Douglas, IL. He escaped on 16 July 1862 and made his way back home. On 30 September 1862 at Little Rock, he enlisted into Capt. William Edgar's Company A in the Texas Light Artillery as a bugler. His widow, Lourinda Ellen, applied for his pension in Arkansas in 1907.
