WATERTOWN —UP)— Madison Cooper, 78, prominent horticulturist
and editor and publisher, died yesterday at his home at nearby Calcium. He established the Floral magazine, "The Modern Gladiolus Grower" later called "The Flower Grower," in 1914. He edited and published the magazine until 1932, He then established the magazine "Gardening" which was discontinued with the outbreak of the second world War. He was a founder of the State Amateur Sports Federation in 1931 and served as its president. He also edited the federation magazine "Amateur Sports".
