Oliver Briggs, 80, of Denton passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014 in Denton. He was born September 27, 1933 in Denton to Clifford and Ruby Davis Briggs. He married Anna Blackwell on June 13, 1953. She preceded him in death on October 7, 2013. He retired from Reeves Enterprises and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 23, 2014 from 3 ¡V 5 pm at DeBerry Funeral Directors. Funeral Service Monday, March 24, 2014 at 10:30 am in the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors with Rev. Gary Yates officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Jake Hunter, Nick Briggs, Josh Briggs, Nicolas Yates, Randy Jackson, and Joe Bridges. Honorary pallbearers will be J.T. Mohon, Melvin Pannell, Joe Akers, Randy Johnson and Tony Bridges.

He is survived by daughters, Vickie Beckham of Gainesville and Brenda Hunter of Warren AR; son, Chuck Briggs of Denton; sister, Jo Temple Wilburn of Denton; 5 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be made to Ann's Haven Hospice or a charity of your choice.
