Mr. Francis A. Cote, of Mansfield and formerly of Taunton, died unexpectedly Tuesday, March 18 in Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. He was the beloved husband of Louise A. (Gajdasz) Cote for 54 years. He was born 84 years ago in Taunton, the son of the late Ovide and Ida (Benoit) Cote. He was educated in Taunton and was a graduate of the New England Technical Institute. Prior to his retirement, Frank had been employed as a Maintenance Line Supervisor at Texas Instruments, Attleboro, for 36 years, retiring in 1991. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War Era, stationed in Germany, and was Honorably Discharged in 1954. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 103 in Taunton, the Disabled American Veterans, Post 57, the Polish-American Citizens Club, and the Maximilian Kolbe Guild. He enjoyed playing golf, bowling, traveling,and his beloved cat, Mel. He was a communicant of the Holy Rosary Parish in Taunton.
In addition to his wife, he leaves: 2 daughters: Anne Kiley and her husband, Steven of Reading, and Mary Jane Baldo and her husband, Christopher of Fairhaven; 3 grandchildren: Jennifer Kiley, Olivia Baldo and Jonathan Baldo, and several nieces and nephews. Frank was also the father of the late Michael J. Cote and the brother of the late Evelyn M. Nevens.
Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Monday, March 24 at 9:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in the Holy Rosary Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
