Funeral services for Ivor Lorine Fannin, age 92, of Henderson, formerly of Rusk, are scheduled in Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. R.S. Dyess officiating. Interment will be in Shady Grove Cemetery under the direction of Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Rusk.
Ms. Fannin passed away March 19, 2014 in Autumn Leaves Nursing Facility of Henderson. She was born April 19, 1921 in Appleby, to the late Garland and Mary Drucilla Snyder Dunn.
Ms. Fannin was a member of Eastside Baptist Church for many years while living in Rusk and then moved to Groveton, where she became a member of Oaklawn Baptist Church. She was an active member of the WMU while at Eastside Baptist and worked as the Avon Lady for many years throughout the Rusk area. Ms. Fannin loved helping people, helping with her grandchildren, gardening and she never met a stranger.
She was preceded in death by a brother Bernice Dunn, sister-in-law, Bernice Dunn, two sons, Thomas Garland Fannin, James Edward Fannin, nephews, Arthur Dunn, Wayne Dunn, son-in-law, Elwood Drinkard, son-in-law, Lee Smith, niece, Lillian Locke.
She is survived by daughter, Mary Sue Drinkard of Groveton, daughter, Ivor Lee Smith of Groveton, son and daughter-in-law, Charlie Frank and Mary Fannin of Nacogdoches, son, Jesse Lee Fannin of Jacksonville, son, Billy Joe Fannin of Rusk, son and daughter-in-law, Bobby Gene and Jackie Fannin of Jacksonville, daughter and son-in-law, Della and Steve Russell of Henderson, son, Ronnie Fannin of Rusk, ex daughter-in-law, Bridgett Stinson of Rusk, 25 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
