Thos. Newman, at the home of his son, E.M. Newman, in this county, Aug. 9, 1892. The deceased was born in Fleming county, KY, Oct. 5, 1809 and hence was nearly 83 years old when he died. He was married to Margaret Watson in 1832, and the following year moved to Moreland county, Ind., where, a short time afterwards he was converted and joined the M.E. Church. From this time until his death he lived a faithful Christian life. His wife preceded him only a few months, as she died April 24, 1892.
He was buried in the Maysville cemetery Aug. 10. Short services at house by Rev. V.T. Willis."
