Baptism: May 9, 1802, First Presbyterian Church, Cranberry, Middesex, New Jersey.

Marriage 1: Martha Hulick married Erastus Smith April 30, 1822, in Clermont, Ohio. They had four children: Judge Arthur Arnold Smith, b. 1829; Harriet Arnold Smith, b. abt 1836; George Erastus Smith, b. 1839; and Julia A. Smith, b. 1844. Census records suggest that Erastus Smith died before 1850.

Marriage 2: Martha (Hulick) Smith (age 61) married Rev. David Simpson Bruner (age 68) (his second marriage also), May 19, 1863, in Knox County, Illinois. There is no record of any children.

Death: At the 1880 Census Martha Bruner was living with her daughter, Julia (Smith) Lynds, and Julia's spouse, George W. Lynds, in St. Louis, Missouri. George Lynds was living in 1890. At the 1900 Census Julia was living with her brother, George E. Smith, in St. Louis. In 1900 neither Martha nor George Lynds are listed as living with Julia so both were probably deceased by then.

Martha may have died in St. Louis, Missouri, where she was living with her daughter, Julia's family in 1880.
