Bob Hightower, 78, of Grovespring, died Friday, Dec. 9, 2005, at his home.

He was born June 29, 1927, at Grovespring to Hadley and Grada Buttram Hightower.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Larry Leon Hightower; and by a twin brother, Billy Hightower.

He worked in upholstery and furniture manufacturing, and was a member of the Mt. Zion Cuba Freewill Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Helen, of the home; one daughter, Diana Davis, and her husband, Everett, of Grovespring; one granddaughter, Bobbie Sue Davis; one great-grandson, Joshua Metro; other relatives and friends.

Services for Bob Hightower will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 12, at Mt. Zion Cuba Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor David Douglas and the Rev. Bill Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cuba Cemetery with military honors provided by VFW Post 4107.

Visitation will be from 4 to 5 p.m. today at Thieme-Shadel Funeral Service at Colonial Chapel.

A memorial has been established to Lebanon Christian Healthcare Hospice or Mt. Zion Cemetery.
