VERNAL - Mary Brazilla Hartle, 56, died at her home Thursday morning at 7 a.m. of a heart attack.

Mrs. Hartle was born Dec. 14, 1894 in Vernal in the Naples Ward district, a daughter of Rancis Marian and Amanda Taylor Caldwell. She attended Vernal schools, and was a lifelong resident of Vernal. She was married to Frank Hartle in the Salt Lake City Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, on Sept. 30, 1914. She was a member of the Fort Thornburg chapter of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers in Maeser. Before her death she was a Relief Society visiting teacher in the Vernal Second Ward.

Surviving are a step-mother, Effie Bird Caldwell, Vernal and three daughters and one son, Clive Hartle, Vernal, Mrs. Harold (Celda) Behunin, Vernal, Mrs. Eldro (Lula) Dean Snowden, Menlo Park, Calif., and Miss Mildred Hartle, Vernal; one sister, Sylvia Caldwell, Vernal, two brothers, Blake Caldwell, Vernal and Francis Caldwell, Ohio; five half-brothers, LeMond, Eldon, Forrest, Erist, and Lawrence Caldwell, all of Vernal; three half-sisters, Mrs. Norma Burton, Mrs. Isabel Goity, and Mrs. Lela McCarrell, all of Vernal; ten grandchildren, Max, Jesse, Frank, John, Marlin, Clarnell, Tommy, and J. Mathew Behunin of Vernal, and Donald Dean and Gayle Loren Snowden, Menlo Park, Calif.

Funeral services will be conducted in the Vernal Second Ward chapel with Bishop Harold Hullinger officiating. Time of funeral services will be announced later by the Swain Funeral Home.
