laine E. Hord 90, of Bloomfield, passed away at 10:45 a.m. on Monday, April 28, 2014 at Glenburn Home in Linton.Born December 30, 1923 in Greene County, she was the daughter of Roy and Anna E. (Pribble) Ashcraft.She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Bloomfield First Christian Church and a 50 year member of the Bloomfield Order of Eastern Star.Surviving relatives include: two daughters, Carolyn Carmichael and Sherry Quakenbush (Kenny) both of Bloomfield; four brothers, Robert Ashcraft of Indianapolis, Kenneth Ashcraft of Kokomo, James Ashcraft of Wiggins, Mississippi and Roy "Bud" Ashcraft Jr. of Bloomfield; three sisters, Beulah Howell of Loogootee, Marjorie Ball of Linton and Joan Padgett of Bloomfield; three grandchildren and six great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Hord, two brothers, Raymond and Ralph Ashcraft and her sisters, Royelle Wood and Wilma Walton.Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with Rev. Arlen Pope and Rev. Matt Marcus officiating. Interment will follow in Grandview cemetery in Bloomfield.Public visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and 1 hour prior to services on Thursday at the funeral home.Online condolences to the family are available at www.jenkinsfuneralhomes.com.
