Ida Vivian Blackett Searle Until We Meet Again Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Ida Vivian Blackett Searle, passed away on February 18, 2003 at the age of 75 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born on September 16, 1927 in Nephi, Utah to Robert Leroy and Sarah Wanda Greenhalgh Blackett. She graduated from South High School in 1946 and attended the University of Utah, graduating from the School of Nursing in 1949. She worked as a registered nurse for many years, bringing care and help to many people. Vivian married Philo Willis Searle on February 17, 1954 in the Salt Lake Temple. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many positions, including Primary president, Relief Society secretary and teacher. She also served various positions in the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and as PTA president for two years. Vivian is survived by her husband of 49 years; son Michael (Cindy); daughters Linda Sanchez, Diane (Robert) Meyers, GayLynn (Rex) Christensen and Marlene (Blain)Wood; 20 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and sister Shirlene (William) Irvine. Preceded in death by her grandparents; parents; brothers Mont, Morris, Clead, LeMar and Neldon Blackett; and many aunts and uncles. We will miss the endless stories she shared with us. Vivian loved pulling out her scrapbooks and photos to tell the story of her and Philo's blessed life together. Vivian had such a passion for life, in which she devoted an endless amount of time and energy to her family and friends. She was one of the most caring and loving people in the world. She was our mentor and our rock. Vivian meant so much to so many people and she will be missed more than words can ever express. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, February 22nd at 11:00 a.m. at the Kearns 5th Ward, 5025 West 4865 South. Friends may call on Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Rd., West Jordan, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment to follow the services at Redwood Memorial Cemetery.
