GEISTOWN — SHERTZER – Mildred M., 86, Geistown, died March 16, 2014, at Arbutus Park Manor, Richland. Born May 26, 1927, in South Fork, daughter of George and Mary Catherine (Fry) Hill. Preceded in death by parents and husband, J. Wesley Shertzer, who died July 16, 2010. Survived by children, John, married to Marcia Owens, Waynesboro; Tom, married to Ginny Lamison, Johnstown; Kathy, wife of Joel Blough; Karen, wife of Robert Giebfried; and Joe, all of Johnstown; grandchildren, Justin and Andrew Shertzer, Matt Shertzer, Jessie (Shertzer) Sanchez, Steven and Lauren Blough, Jason and Cory Giebfried and Luke Shertzer; and great-grandchildren, Jacob, Seve, Khloe, Caleb, Kieran, Kali, Paige, Conner and Cadence. Member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Geistown. Mildred retired from Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center after 40 years of service as a registered nurse. She was a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother whose life blessed all she knew. Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home Inc., South Fork, where vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Father David Peles.
