Virginia Hess Harman, 102, of Mount Crawford, Rochingham county, Virginia, died Sunday, March 16, 2014, at her home.

Virginia was born in Rockingham County, VA on November 21, 1911, a daughter of the late Marion Luther and Ressie Olivia (Hess) Holsinger.

She was a homemaker and a member of Saint James United Methodist Church in Pleasant Valley Virginia was the widow of Howard David Harman, who preceded her in death on December 27, 1991.

She is survived by a daughter, Rosalie Harman of Mount Crawford; a son, Paul Harman and wife, Debbie, of Mount Crawford; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; two daughters-in-law, Jean Harman and Ester Harman; and a cousin, Fern Cline.

Virginia was preceded in death by sons, Ralph M. Harman, Mark Joseph Harman and Ernest Samuel Harman, Sr; a daughter, Carolyn Harman; grandsons, Ernest Samuel Harman, Jr. and Corey Shane Harman a great-granddaughter, Marty Knicely; and a brother, Weldon M Holsinger.

A memorial service will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at Saint James United Methodist Church in Pleasant Valley with the Rev. Carrie L. Talbott officiating. Burial will be private.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 18, 2014, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Service Chapel in Bridgewater.
