Obituary from the Edwardsville Intelligencer, Edwardsville, Madison County, Illinois, Monday, April 2, 1956, page 2:
  Miss Mary S. Wehling, 90, died late Sunday afternoon at an Alton hospital. She was born Aug. 20, 1865 in Carpenter, where she spent most of her life as a resident, a daughter of the late Frederick and Wilhelmina Miehe Wehling, and had reached the age of 90 years, 7 months, 11 days.
  Survivors include eight nephews and nine nieces. Three brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
  Friends may call at the Lesley Marks funeral home after 2 p.m. Tuesday. Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Clyde Funkhouser, of St. John's Methodist church, officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn cemetery.

Pallbearers were William, Joseph and Henry Wehling, Jim Jarrett and Edwin and Emil Schneider.
