In Memory
Of Elliott, youngest child of Mr. and Mrs. George Williams of Danville; who died August 1, 1901. As bright and healthy a child as any that ever came to brighten and make more blessed an already happy home; until four weeks ago, when he was taken with summer complaint and continually grew worse developing into congestion of the stomach then of the brain. Only a mother's true sympathy can realize how this darling baby suffered during the last few days, though we all looked on with pity at the little sufferer tossing its little head and moaning in the greatest pain that such tender flesh could endure; until the heavenly messenger came for it at four o'clock Thursday evening and bore the innocent spirit from its tortured abode to the realms of happiness above, leaving the grieved parents to say, "tomorrow our baby would be one year old, and oh, it's hard, bitter hard indeed that we should put him from our sight forever more," but that remember dear parents, loving friends and all; it was only the tenement of clay we buried in Middletown cemetery on baby Elliott's birthday; but he, dear little angel, began with his first birthday and will keep all of them with the loving Savior who said unto them "Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not for such is the Kingdom of Heaven. Except ye become as little children ye shall not enter into the Kingdom of Heaven." There little Elliott awaits our coming free of temptations, trials and sin, though his time with us was brief, his mission has been performed, and we turn to God who gave and has taken and in His wisdom, infinate love and mercy. He will sustain and comfort you. "if ye will but ask for, ye shall receive," therfore humbly bow and say "Thy will be done." - A.M.
