Hiram Gray, age 89, of Bimble, died Friday, March 14, 2014 in Baptist Health in Corbin. He was a son of the late Ellis and Lillie Hensley Gray, born to them on February 19, 1925 in Knox County.

Hiram was a retired Supervisor for the Knox County Road Department; a member of the Scalf Chapel Pentecostal Church; and a well known Bee Keeper for over 50 years.

In the year of 1953, he united in marriage to Sudie Hubbard.

He was preceded in death along with his parents, by his eight brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his loving wife of over 60 years: Sudie Hubbard Gray of Bimble. His sons: Terry Lee Gray and wife, Lillie of Barbourville; and Larry Gray and wife, Patty of Bimble. His daughter: Imogene Lawrence and husband, Glenn of Bimble. His seven grandchildren: Gina Carpenter and husband, Jeffrey, April Messer and husband, Tim, John Partin and wife, Amanda, Heather Blanchard and husband, John, Larry Daniel Gray and wife, Sonya, Terry Dewayne Gray and wife, Lauren, and Ivy Shelton and husband, Jeremy; and Katlyn Shields and husband, Tyler whom he loved as a granddaughter. His twelve great grandchildren. His sister: Rusel Betterton of Cincinnati, Ohio; and a host of nieces and nephews, and other relatives and loving friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral Services for Hiram Gray will be 1:00 P.M. Monday, March 17, 2014 at the Scalf Chapel Pentecostal Church at Bimble with Rev. Ted Satterfield, Rev. Don Messer and Jack Doan officiating. Burial will follow in the Barbourville Cemetery.
Those serving as Pallbearers will be: John Partin, Daniel Gray, Terry Dewayne Gray, Tim Messer, Jeff Carpenter and John Blanchard. Those serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be the Scalf Chapel Pentecostal Church family.

The Gray family will receive friends at the Hopper Funeral Home after 5:00 P.M. on Sunday, and on Monday after 12:00 noon at the Scalf Chapel Pentecostal Church until the funeral hour.
