Contrary to what is in the note field from the VA import (which I cannot delete), Flora was not the service personnel in the family. It was her husband, Carl Alva Tucker, who was the Sgt First Class in the Army.
The Social Security Death Index gives Flora's date of death as 15 Sep 1972, although the VA said it was 23 Sep 1972. I suspect Social Security is correct, and the VA used her interment date as the date of death.

Hi, I just sent a correction for Flora's date of death through the new edit system, but thought I should also send you a note. According to Flora's obituary that was published in the local newspaper, her death date on her headstone (which I just added) is the correct death date. The SSDI must be incorrect.
