When Hazel Ann Lilly Shrewsbury Toney Holstein was born on October 22, 1893, in Summers County, West Virginia, her father, Thomas Madison Lilly, was 32 and her mother, Amanda Melvina Lilly, was 27. She married her first husband, George Washington Shrewsbury about 1909 and later his half brother, Charles S Shrewsbury (of which I am a descendant) in or about 1918, in West Virginia. She had at least two other husbands, carrying the last names of both Toney and Holstein. She died on March 23, 1963, in Fayetteville, West Virginia, at the age of 69, and was buried in South Charleston, West Virginia.
