She had been married to Steven Waldemar Jorgensen when she was 15 and gave birth to premature triplet girls three months later. They lived 4 hours and all three then died. They had 6 more children in the following six years and divorced. Their two youngest children were in the home of their Jorgensen grandparents and the four older with their father when Ruth married Franklin in 1945.
Franklin and Ruth were together about 5 years. She then married Martin Luther Deford Jr. 3 October 1950 in Las Vegas, Clark, Nevada.
Later, Franklin married Bernice Brimhall, widow of Clayton Burnett Whitehead, 5 July 1951. After the death of Franklin, Bernice married Earl Bowden Telford, and is buried at Ogden City Cemetery.
