Bernice Baird, 85, 722 Harvard St. died today at St. Joseph's Hospital in Highland. Mrs. Baird was born Nov. 21, 1888 in Stallings, Illinois. Her parents were the late Harrison and Anna Maria Barco. Mrs. Barco was formerly Anna Maria Mestre.
Mrs. Baird was the wife of the late Dr. Homer G. Baird. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Roy Marie Fruit of Edwardsville and Mrs. Judith Steinmann of Decatur. She leaves six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Friends may visit Sunday, from 4 p.m. at the Pletcher Funeral Home. Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home and the Rev. William B. Lewis will officiate. Memorials may be given to the heart fund. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Leonard Leitner, Maurice Fruit, Clyde Fruit, Richard Stolze, Sam Overbeck and Walter Hanfelder.
