SERVED WITH ARMY ON MEXICAN BORDER

DEWEY GRIGGS, 70, of Buckingham St., died Monday evening at his home following an extended illness.

He was born May 14, 1898 in Lowell, OH, and lived here for the past 50 years. Mr. Griggs was a retired employee of the maintenance department of Hartman Electric Co. and was a member of the Diamond Hill Chapel.

He served on the Mexican Border, was a veteran of World War I, serving overseas with the U. S. Army, and was a member of the Ohio Rainbow Division Veteran Assn.

Surviving are his wife, Frances Reynolds Griggs; one son, William R. Griggs of Mansfield; three daughters, Mrs. Donald Peters, Mrs. Lyle Weymouth and Mrs. Herbert E. Walton, all of Mansfield; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Grace Bibler of Akron.

Funeral services will be held Friday at the Wappner Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mansfield Cemetery. Military services will be held at graveside by the VFW Mohican Post No. 9943.
