She married Frank Ernest King on 15 Oct 1916 in Shadyside, Belmont, OH. Her father Isaac Jasper Davis was the minister at the Shadyside Church of Christ and preformed the marriage ceremony. During the flood of 1913 Ethel and her mother Elizabeth Carrie McCarty baked bread and delivered via boat to flooded residents. She was the oldest living native citizen of Shadyside when she turn 80; also life long member of the Shadyside Church of Christ were she sang with a beautiful alto voice. She sang with members of her church early on March 26th, she laid down to nap and never woke up.
