She was born in Chippewa, Wis., on March 17, 1897, to Robert and Elizabeth Andres. When she was a young girl, the family moved West and homesteaded in the Webb Creek area. She attended school at Webb and Lewiston.
As a young girl, she cooked for different farmers during harvest and was working in Wawawai, Wash., when she met Tine B. McAmis. They were later married.
They had four children, and in 1939 they moved to Salinas, Calif., where she worked for Spreckles Sugar Co. and frozen foods plants. Her husband died in 1954, and in 1961 she moved to Sweetwater to help care for her ailing daughter.
She enjoyed cooking, embroidery, crocheting and family gatherings.
She is survived by a daughter, Agnes L. McIntire of Lapwai; a son, Tine Roy McAmis of Lewiston; a sister, Helen Hastings of Lewiston; seven grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, John and Robert (Pete), three brothers and two sisters.
Her request was to be cremated and her remains taken to Salinas, Calif., where memorial services will be held. She will be buried next to her husband.
