Elihu Burton Ends Life By Drowning.

Worried over the troubles of his close friend, Roland McGahan, Elihu Burton, 61 year old farmer, of Nancy, ended his own life Tuesday morning by drowning. He left his home about 5 o'clock in the morning and ran a quarter of a mile to the "Fallover" pool back of his farm, removed his coat and shoes and jumped in the water. The pool is five feet deep. At 9:30 o'clock his body was found by Frank Ellis and son, Virgil, and several other neighbors.

Mr. Burton was with Roland McGahan in Somerset October 16 when he shot and fatally wounded Columbus Ard, and appeared before the grand jury Friday when McGahan was indicted. Burton and McGahan served together in the Spanish-American War and were boon companions. Mr. Burton was well liked by all who knew him.

He is survived by his widow; three daughters, Mrs. Eva Mincey of Slate Branch, Mrs. Viva Sears of Somerset and Mrs. Blonnie McGahan of Nancy; and two sons, Glenard and Emory Burton of Nancy.

The funeral service will be at White Oak Thursday afternoon and will be conducted by Rev. Wesley Colyer.

Interment will be in the Fairvie3w Cemetery.
