Connersville Examiner May 24, 1882
William, son of Thomas J. Caldwell, of Waterloo township, died on Saturday morning last, and was buried at Lick Creek cemetery on Sunday afternoon. Some two years ago deceased was bitten by a rat, from the poisonous effects of which he was thought for some time to have partially recovered. Some weeks ago, however, the wound again assumed an aggravated aspect, and he grew gradually weaker, amid suffering and pain, until relieved by death, as above stated. Deceased was twenty-two years of age.
