Lois L Vanderpool Ross passed from this life on March 9, 2014 at the age of 92 years in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Lois was born in Oilton, Oklahoma to Willie Flecher Vanderpool and Rena Mae Sill Vanderpool moving to Frankes, Oklahoma which later became Fittstown. Lois attended Franks Harden City Schools. She married Bud Ross on January 13, 1936 soon after moving to California. Lois moved back to Fittstown, Oklahoma in 1967. Lois was a mother, housewife and worked as an assistant cook and cook manager for Fresno City Public Schools. She was also a cook for the Ada City School system. Lois for over 20 years worked at Stonegate Nursing Center in Stonewall, Oklahoma as a cook as well. Lois enjoyed sewing, cooking and gardening. She was a wonderful neighbor. Lois loved to keep up with local and national current events by reading the news paper and watching the news. Lois as an avid coupon clipper and did not waste a thing. Lois was very proud of her Cherokee heritage. Lois is preceded in death by her husband Bud Ross, 2 sons and 3 brothers. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM, Friday March 14, 2014 at Ladda A Place of New Hope Church with Pastor Toby Williby officiating. Interment will follow at Pontotoc Cemetery in Johnston County.
