Mr. Walter Davis Buckner, age 85 of Pell City Rt. 3 (Moody, Ala.), passed away Wednesday p.m. in a Leeds hospital. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Effie Vida Buckner; one daughter, Mrs. J.L. Pipkin, Charlotte, N.C.; two sons, L.D. Buckner, Pell City Rt. 3 and Walter E. Buckner of Huntsville; two sisters, Mrs. Rena Ferguson of Decatur, Ala., Mrs. Ann Hatchet of Mangum, Okla.; one brother, Clein Clinton Buckner of Tony, Ala.; four grandchildren. Funeral services Friday, 2 p.m. from the Moody Methodist Church, interment Jefferson Memorial Gardens, the Rev. Franklin M. Fetner officiating. Remains will lie in state at the church from 1 p.m. until time of services. Active pallbearers: Orlon Busby, Wilburn Taylor, Earl Laster, James DeShazo, Louis Moore and James Fairley. Honorary pallbearers, members of the Men's Bible Class of the Moody Methodist Church. Kilgroe of Pell City directing.
