M. Howery, Old Resident, Dies Suddenly
Michael Howery, resident of the Acampo and Lodi districts for the past 53 years, passed away suddenly yesterday morning at his home at 23 De Force street following a heart attack. He was born in Taswell, Virginia, and was 82 years of age.
For many years after coming to this district he farmed extensively but had retired from active work for the past few years.
He was the husband of Mrs. Carrie Howery, Lodi; father of Archie T. Howery, Acampo, and Mrs. Edgar Wilkinson, Lodi; brother of William Howery, Bethany, Mo.; Clinton Howery, Taswell, Virginia; Mrs. Ella Alcorn, Newport News, Va., and Mrs. Polly Mahood, Graham, Va. He was also the father of the late Mrs. Harry Roush. He is survived by eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the chapel of Hale & Bawden with interment in Lodi cemetery.
