Virginia was born on February 16, 1921, in Sheboygan to Gilbert and Elfreda (Rach) Meresberger.
She attended and graduated from Central High School in Sheboygan in 1939.
She married Bernard Daane on June 28, 1975, in Sheboygan and the two remained happily married until his passing on January 12, 2007.
Virginia raised her two children on a farm in St. Ann. When she wasn't at home with her family she also worked as a seamstress for the Hansen Glove Co. in Kiel, Wisconsin and the Leverenz Shoe Co. in New Holstein. She later moved to Sheboygan where she worked for many years as a saleswoman at the H. C. Prange Company.
She loved playing cards, listening to music and attending polka dances. She was also an excellent cook, always cooking large meals for her family on holidays. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was known as a giving person who was willing to help others.
Virginia is survived by her daughters, Barbara (Hilmar Jr.) Voelker of St. Ann, and Patricia (Victor) Calvesio of Rockton, Illinois; her grandchildren, Lori (Tom) Kober of Vermillion, South Dakota, Steve Voelker of Chilton, Wisconsin, Kristine (Bradley) Roddy of Hartford, Wisconsin, Lisa (Mark) Cleveland of Bristow, Virginia, Stephanie (Stavn) Yoder of Rockford, Illinois, and Jessica (Anthony) Pipitone of Rockton; and her great-grandchildren, Cassandra (Kyle) Kettner, Austin Voelker, Ciara Voelker, Joshua Roddy, Noah Roddy, Hannah Cleveland, Jacob Cleveland, Benjamin Yoder, Monica Yoder, Isabella Pipitone, Anthony Pipitone and Liliana Pipitone,
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert & Elfreda Meresberger; and her husband, Bernard Daane.
