BERNICE G. DODGE
VERONA -- Mrs. Bernice G. Dodge, 65, of 4989 Spring St., wife of Winfield E. Dodge, died yesterday in her home.
She was born in Rome, daughter of Myron and Clara Laufer Gillett. Mrs. Dodge attended Rome Schools and graduated from Rome Free Academy, She lived in Verona for the past 46 years. She had been a toll collector for the New York State Thruway, retiring in 1963. She was also employed by the Rome Brass and Copper Co.
She was married to Winfield E. Dodge in 1926.
Mrs. Dodge was a member of Verona Methodist Church and its Munger-Green Circle. She was also a member of Vesta Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star.
Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter, Mrs. Gaylord (Barbara) Johnson, of Huntington, W. Va.; a son, Nelson T., at home, and a brother, Carl E. Gillett, of Rome.
The funeral will be at 2 Wednesday from the Strong Funeral Home, with burial in Verona Cemetery. Calling hours are today from 7 to 9 and tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
