Annie Mae, born in Catawba County in 1888, was the daughter of Sylvanus Killian and Candace Baker and the grandaugher of Civil War veteran, Elijah Killian. She was also a descendant of the early Catawba County pioneer, Andreas Killian. Alvin and Annie Mae had seven children who reached adulthood: Homer, Vernon,(known as Bud), Clarence(known as Slim), Kathyrn, Maude, Pauline and Donald(known as Jack). Bud was killed in a plane crash during World War II. Alvin Kaylor died in 1947 and Annie Mae in 1961.
