WARREN - James Henry Buckner, 74, died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009, at his residence.

He was born Aug. 23, 1935, in Cumberland Furnace, Tenn., a son of the late Homer Buckner and the late Bailey Beatrice Scott Buckner.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a self-employed carpenter. He was an avid Cleveland Browns fan and he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving are his daughters, Sheri (Danny) Armistead of Champion and Linda (Thomas) Fitzpatrick of Howland; grandchildren, Shaun (Evelyn) Armistead, Steven Armistead, Michael (Emily) Fitzpatrick and Andrew Fitzpatrick; sisters, Ann Peterson, Leona Jackson and Juanita Calvert; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters.

Per the wishes of James, there will be no calling hours or services. Cremation has taken place.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
