The 1910 U.S. Federal Census tells us Clark A. Thomas [abt age 7] was living in Mattoon, Coles, Illinois with his parents, Ephraim D. and Millie S. Thomas. There were seven children in the household: Lilly V., Roy E., Nellie H., Claudie O., Belin G., Clark A. and Arthur N. Thomas. The family was living on North 22nd Street, Mattoon, IL. We learn that Clark is able to read and write.

The 1920 U.S. Federal Census shows Clark Thomas [abt age 17] living in Mattoon, Coles, Illinois, USA with his parents, Ephraim and Mattie Thomas, along with Charles Byron Leroy, George, and Arthur Thomas. The family was living at 1105 Richmond. Clark was working as a laborer for the railroad.

Adelbert Thomas enlisted in the US ARMY on December 17, 1921 and was released on December 18, 1924.

We learn Adelbert took his education to Elementary school, 6th grade. Adelbert was working as a machinist to support his family.

Adelbert Clark Thomas lost his wife on April 3, 1941 in Indianapolis, Marion, Indiana, USA. Her death was caused by Generalized Peritonitis - Perforated Appendicitis and an inquest was held before a Coroner's Certificate of Death was issued. Gladys passed away in her home at 947 Bell Street at the age of 34 years and 12 days. She was buried on April 5, 1941 in Glen Haven Park, which is now a part of Washington Park North Cemetery.
