Mrs. J.E. Farmer passed away at her home on 9 White Street, Eureka Springs, Ark., on January 28, 1945, after a lingering illness. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. A.J. Green, at the Farmer school house at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon and interment was in the Farmer cemetery. Mrs. Farmer was a life-long resident of Carroll county, having been born near Berryville, Dec. 8, 1875. She was united in marriage July 12, 1905, to James Elmer Farmer. To this union were born three sons: Graydon Farmer who is now in the United States Navy, stationed at San Francisco, Calif., Ralph Farmer of Greenfield, California, Jimmie Farmer, of Redlands, California, the latter being the only one of the sons able to attend the funeral, having arrived a few hours too late to be at her bedside. Before her marriage, she was Nancy Jane Gage and was well known and loved by a host of friends and relatives in and around Berryville. Besides her husband and sons, she leaves several grandchildren and one brother, T.F. Gage, of Fayetteville, Arkansas. A few years ago Mr. and Mrs. Farmer moved to Eureka Springs where they have since resided.
