Oral G. "Hoot" Sampson, 81, of St. Marys, died Wednesday, May 8,
1996, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Roane County, a son of the late Leroy and Bell Marks
Sampson. He was retired from the W.Va. Dept. of Highways in Gilmer
County and was a former carpenter.
Surviving are his wife, Ruby H. Sampson; three sons, Otis Sampson of
Sterling, Ohio, Kenneth Sampson of Millstone and Willard Sampson of
St. Marys; two daughters, Ellen Coen of Barberton, Ohio, and Mary
West of Sand Ridge; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and
one stepgreat-grandchild.
Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, with Rev.
Glendon McKee and Rev. Mike Worf officiating. Burial was in Pleasant
Hill Cemetery.
