Sherry Lee Ferguson Jameson, 71, of 670 Park Ave., Apt. 1, Meadville, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at UPMC Montefiore.

Sherry was born in Buffalo, N.Y., on Feb. 21, 1943, a daughter of the late John K. Schmitt and Doris Jean (Bryant) Holton.

On Dec. 22, 1959, Sherry married Arthur (Buddy) Allen Ferguson; he preceded her in death on Aug. 5, 1988.

Sherry enjoyed being a homemaker and housewife. For several years she worked on the family farm, which was located on Route 98, and for the former GTI Plant of Saegertown. She attended Meadville schools.

Sherry was a former member of the Italian Civic Club (ICC) and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Meadville Aerie 429. She loved flowers and plants. In her earlier years she enjoyed horseback riding.

Sherry is survived by a son, Arthur K. Ferguson and his wife, Eloise, of Hoopa, Calif.; a daughter, Alice M. Oblock and her husband, George, of Pittsburgh; two grandchildren, Krystal Sherry Figaratto and her husband, Joseph, and Bryon Andrew Ferguson; two sisters, Beatrice (Bea) Estok and her husband, Robert, of Conneautville, and Susanne Winters and her husband, Robert, of Meadville; a brother, John K. Schmitt and his wife, Linda, of Saegertown; her close companion of more than 20 years, Duane Russell Shade of Meadville; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Arthur, of 28 years, Sherry was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie McKlveen.

Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday from 2 to 7 p.m. at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, with Garry Brown officiating.

Sherry will be laid to rest next to her husband, Arthur, in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Vernon Township.
