OBITUARY-
AUSTIN -- Hazel A. Bauers, 78, of 1821 Third Ave. N.W., a retired teacher, died Tuesday (March 22, 1994) at Burr Oak Manor Nursing Home in Austin.

Hazel A. Laack was born March 28, 1915, in Waltham and graduated from Austin High School. She married Arthur Leeper in 1939 and he preceded her in death. In 1946 she married Daniel Engelman and after his death 1959 she continued her education at Winona State College. During the 1960s she taught in Claremont, New Germany and Hamburg, Minn. She married Arthur Bauers in 1973 and he preceded her in death. Mrs. Bauers was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and the Mower County Senior Citizens Center.
Survivors include five sons, Delmer Leeper of Austin, Lloyd E. Leeper of Minneapolis, LaVerne "Lee" Leeper of New Hope, Minn., Samuel Engelman of Westwood, N.J., and Oliver Engelman of Mankato, Minn.; a stepson, Don Bauers of Austin; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four brothers, Emil Laack, Harold Laack and Julius Grage, all of Austin, and Henry Grage of Texas; and a sister, Irene (Mrs. Bill) Bauers of Twin Lakes, Minn.

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Grace Lutheran Church in Austin with the Rev. Bruce Wilder officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery in Austin.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary in Austin and an hour before the service at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
