John Price Cooper (1756-1827)
(who served in the Rev. War),
and his wife Esther Cary (1758-1810),
of Dutchess County New York.

their family from Allegheny County
New York, to Buchanan, Berrien County
Michigan, in Oct. of 1841.
Also coming with them was
Lorenzo P. Alexander (1820-1894),
who became their son-in-law in 1842.

Lydia died on Feb. 21, 1845, in

Evalinda married # 1. Warner Hooker.
She died in 1889 in Kingsbury County
South Dakota.
Warner Hooker was born Dec. 21, 1806,
in Vermont, and he died March 28, 1848,
in Buchanan, Berrien County Michigan.
(Warner was "first" buried along with
Evalinda's parents, in the Kathryn Park
Cemetery, a.k.a. "McCoy Cemetery", in
Buchanan, Berrien County Michigan).
Evalinda married # 2. Benton Phillips.
Note: There is a probate record (will),
for Evalinda Phillips, in Berrien
County Michigan, in File # 2831.

She married Lorenzo Parker Alexander,

Michigan. (They were school-mates
back in New York).
Children: Theodore, Carlton, and
Emily Kate
(the wife of Henry Clay French).
d. Rachel died in 1859.
Buried: Oak Ridge Cemetery,
Buchanan, Berrien County Michigan
(in Section 20, Lot 1, with Lorenzo).
Lorenzo later married Helen M. Burns,
on Aug. 26, 1860, in Berrien Co. MI.
(Lorenzo died on June 27or29, 1894).
Lorenzo was the son of Thomas Parker
Alexander and Betsey "Eliza" White.
He was a very prominent man in Buchanan.

m. Sarah Ellen Lakin,
on July 30, 1846,
in Berrien County Michigan.
She is the daughter of Benjamin Lakin,
and Elizabeth Simmons.
They moved to Delaware Co. Iowa,
and then to Clay Co. Kansas in 1864.
Children:
Lydia Elvira (she m. James Jesse Law),
Perry Hiram, Alfred Franklin,
Mary Ellen, John W., Emma Louella,
Theodore M., and Alvira Cooper.
d. Nov. 28, 1884, in Sherman twp.,
Clay County Kansas.
Buried: Sherman Cemetery, in
Morganville, Clay County Kansas.

She married Perry Fox (L. P. Fox),
on Nov. 7, 1850, in Berrien County
Michigan.
Emily Jane died on Nov. 3, 1895,
in Niles, Berrien County Michigan.

with her husband "L. P." Fox
(in Section 22, Lot 24).

"K. D." (Catharine D.) Cooper was married
to "A. E." (Alfred E.) Egbert (1829-1895),
on March 21, 1853, in Berrien Co. MI.
She died on April 28, 1898, in
Niles, Berrien County Michigan.
Buried: Silverbrook Cemetery, Niles,
Berrien County Michigan (with Alfred).

Price Cooper was married for the
second time.
m. # 2. Frances Boyd (b. 1801),
on June 27, 1847, in Buchanan township,
Berrien County Michigan.

Price Cooper and his wife Lydia
(and some of their family), were
buried in the very first "public"
cemetery in Buchanan, Michigan
known as the Kathryn Park Cemetery
a.k.a. "The Old Burying Ground",
and the "McCoy Cemetery".
(Buchanan was formerly known
as "McCoy's Creek").
When this old cemetery was ordered
to be vacated by the circuit court,
some of the local families had the
graves of their loved ones
moved to the newer "Oak Ridge
Cemetery", in Buchanan, Michigan.
The old headstones (that could be found),
were then placed on a hillside in the
Oak Ridge Cemetery. The old cemetery
was then made into a children's
playground named Kathryn Park.

records, as being buried in
Section 15, Lot 11,
along with their daughter
Theodalinda (Cooper) Treat,
and son-in-law Warner Hooker.
