GLADSTONE, Mo. -- Edith I. Parker-Cozad, 91, Gladstone, formerly of St. Joseph, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2004, at a Liberty, Mo., healthcare center.


Born Nov. 5, 1912, in Andrew County, Mo., she was a 1932 graduate of Union Star, Mo., high school. Edith lived most of her life in St. Joseph until moving to Gladstone in 1988.


She was a homemaker and member of Wyatt Park Baptist Church in St. Joseph. She was a past member of Spring Garden Extension Club; and past president and member of Spring Garden P. T. A. She loved to embroidery and do gardening.


She married Julius Raymond Parker on Jan. 1, 1936. He passed away in 1967. She then married Thomas D. Cozad on Sept. 5, 1970. He passed away in 1982.


She also was preceded in death by her parents, Claude M. and Margaret A. (Keyes) Bowen; two brothers, W. W. Bowen and Donald Bowen; and three sisters, Alzina Whitlock, Helen Barth and Dorthea Neale.


Edith is survived by her three children, Anna M. Reasy, and her husband, Robert of Gladstone; Raymond l. Parker, and his wife, Monica of Savannah, Mo.; and Larry D. Parker, and his wife, Jacqueline of St. Joseph; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.


Service: 2 p.m. Saturday, Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. Interment: Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation: after 9 a.m. Saturday, at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel, where the family will receive friends 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday.
